On November 17, the 2018 academic exchange meeting of emulsified asphalt was held in Taiyuan. The meeting invited more than 20 guests from the Ministry of Communications, the Institute of Highway Science, Chang'an University, Beijing University of Architecture and Architecture, Sujiaotong Group, and Xiyuefa International Environmental Protection New Materials Co., Ltd. to conduct academic exchanges respectively from the aspects of emulsified asphalt, emulsifier, micro-surfacing, cold mix and cold paving, and industry specifications. More than 200 representatives from nearly 100 enterprises and scientific research institutes in the national emulsified asphalt industry attended the meeting.

The National Emulsified Asphalt Academic Exchange was founded in 1978 and held once a year to promote the development of the national emulsified asphalt industry, improve the industry technology, and better provide application services. This conference is the 31st National Emulsified Asphalt Technology Exchange Conference and the second grand meeting held in Taiyuan after six years. From November 17 to 19, the conference was co-sponsored by the editorial department of Emulsified Asphalt Newsletter and Xiyuefa International Environmental Protection New Materials Co., Ltd., and the conference covered the research and development of emulsifiers and products; Research, production and application of emulsified asphalt and modified emulsified asphalt, testing instruments and related engineering practices.

In the afternoon of the same day, the participants visited the production base and highway science popularization education park of Xiyuefa Company in Yangqu County, observed and observed the new technologies and materials of Xiyuefa Company, such as local cold regeneration, color micro-surfacing, seamless industrial floor and color permeable brick, and discussed the problems in the practical application of emulsified asphalt technology.
